Sometimes these are called chimneys or chimeras. These ovens originated in the South and can be a striking feature in a small backyard. Traditionally made from clay today they can also come in pottery of metal finishes. Some chimneys have a door and inside grill to enable cooking.

Other Containers

Modern designs include portable metal baskets that can be placed wherever you wish them to be for the event you are holding. Ornate designs of animals around a basic metal bowl make it a more interesting when the flames cast shadows. Creative minds have produces pits from wash tubs and the like.
